Following
the original Hallicrafters S-38 receiver were models S-38A through
S-38E, remaining in production until 1961. With distinctive
semi-circular dials, the Hallicrafters S-38 through S-38C models are
very recognizable. The model S-38 had a black satin finish and models
S-38A and S-38B had a black wrinkle finish. The Hallicrafters S-38A
and S-38B were about the same size as the S-38, but were heavier, weighing
14 pounds. They had 4 tubes and a rectifier. Pictured here
is a like new Hallicrafters S-38B receiver. |
